UAM Hosts Professional
Development Week August 17-21 (8/11/09)
MONTICELLO, AR — Faculty and professional staff at the University of
Arkansas at Monticello will make final preparations for the 2009-10 academic
year by participating in Professional Development Week August 17-21.
The week will include an orientation for new faculty and staff on Monday,
August 17 as well as sessions throughout the week on topics such as
information technology, academic advising, online audio-video presentation,
and use of new software.
UAM Chancellor Jack Lassiter will present a state of the university address
on Wednesday, August 19 at 9:30 a.m. in the Fine Arts Center auditorium.
Lassiter and his wife, Judy, will host a campus-wide potluck indoor picnic
at the John F. Gibson University Center on August 20 from 5-7 p.m.
Other activities for the week include a presentation on Enterprise Resource
Planning by Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration Jay Jones and an
update on centennial activities by Dr. Clay Brown, vice chancellor for
university relations and student affairs.
