Country Music Star Collin Raye To
Perform At UAM September 3 As Part Of Centennial Celebration

MONTICELLO, AR — Country music star Collin Raye will perform at the
University of Arkansas at Monticello on Thursday, September 3 in a concert
co-sponsored by UAM and the Southeast Arkansas Concert Association.
The performance by the DeQueen native is being held in conjunction with
UAM’s centennial celebration and kicks off the Seark Concert Association’s
34th year.
The concert will be held at Convoy Leslie-Cotton Boll Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
Gates open at 6:30. Tickets are $60 and may be purchased by calling the UAM
box office at (870) 460-1412 or the Seark Concert Association at (870)
460-9603 or (870) 367-5399. Tickets will also be available at the stadium
gate the night of the concert.
The $60 ticket price includes admission to the other Seark Concert
Association events for the 2009-2010 season, including an October 18
performance by the St. Louis Brass Quintet, a December 13 performance of the
Pine Bluff Symphony’s Christmas program, and an April 18 performance of
“Yesterday Once More,” a retro look at music of the 1970s.
Raye is a familiar voice to country music fans with 15 number one singles,
24 consecutive top 10 songs, four platinum albums, and a variety of Country
Music Association and Academy of Country Music Awards. His string of hit
singles includes “Love, Me,” “In This Life,” “That’s My Story,” “Little
Rock,” “My Kind of Girl,” “The Gift,” and “I Can Still Feel You.”
Raye’s newest album, “Never Going Back,” is his first for the Time Life
label, and includes the single “She’s With Me,” a ballad about his
granddaughter Haley, who lives with an undiagnosed neurological disorder.
In a special connection to the Monticello concert, Raye’s number one single
“One Boy, One Girl,” was written by 1989 UAM graduate Shaye Smith, a native
of DeWitt.
