Forestry Graduate Student Wins
Award At Natural Resources Student Symposium (4/6/09)
MONTICELLO, AR — Shivan G.C., a graduate student in the University of
Arkansas at Monticello’s School of Forest Resources, was recently honored
for presenting the best research poster at the Southeastern Natural
Resources Graduate Student Symposium held March 26-28 at Mississippi State
University.
The poster presented the results of research into the factors that influence
nonindustrial private landowners’ policy preference for promoting bioenergy
in the southern U.S.
Shivan is a native of Kathmandu, Nepal and a student of Sayeed Mehmood,
associate professor of forest economics and policy.
