Applications Available Now For Majors Scholarship (1/17/12)

MONTICELLO, AR — Applications for the Gerald and Sue Majors Endowed Scholarship for graduates of Star City High School will be available beginning February 1 through the Star City High School counselor or the Office of Admissions at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
The priority application deadline for the fall 2012 term is April 1.
The scholarship was created by Gerald and Sue Majors to be presented annually to a Star City graduate. The recipient must be a first-time freshman of any academic major with a high school grade point average of 3.5 or better, possess a strong work ethic, good personality traits, and demonstrate excellent professional potential.
The scholarship pays toward the cost of tuition and on-campus room and board. It is renewable for a total of eight semesters, pending review of grade point average and credit hours.
The first Majors scholarship was awarded in 2005. There are currently five UAM students receiving the Majors scholarship.
For more information, contact Star City High School or the UAM Office of Admissions at (800) 844-1826 and (870) 460-1026.
