Birds of North America Online

Birds of North America Online is a comprehensive reference for life history information on the over 700 different bird species that breed in the United States and Canada. It offers audio selections with accompanying spectrograms and hundreds of videos showing various behaviors. To listen to audio or to view the videos you will need to have the free, Quicktime plug-in installed for your browser. You will also need to have pop-ups enabled to view various content. The trial ends January 28, 2010.

Social Work Abstracts

Produced by the National Association of Social Workers, Social Work Abstracts offers extensive coverage of more than 450 social work and human services journals dating back to 1965. All aspects of the social work field, including theory and practice, areas of service, and social issues and problems are covered. The trial ends November 27, 2009.

Biological Abstracts

Biological Abstracts is a collection of bibliographic references covering life sciences and biomedical research literature. The database contains more than 10 million archival records from 1969, with more than 370,000 citations added each year.

Literary Reference Center Plus

Designed to build on the content of Literary Reference Center™, Literary Reference Center Plus offers additional reference works, literary journals, new contemporary literature titles, full-text literary study guides, audio content and videos. The trial ends November 27, 2009.

Education Research Complete is an online resource for education research. Topics covered include all levels of education, from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, testing. The database also covers areas of curriculum instruction as well as administration, policy, funding, and related social issues. The trial ends November 28, 2009.

Communications and Mass Media Complete

Communications and Mass Media Complete provides access to research in the areas of communications and mass media. CMMC incorporates the content of CommSearch (formerly produced by the National Communication Association) and Mass Media Articles Index (formerly produced by Penn State) along with numerous other journals in the communication discipline. This resource includes indexing and abstracts for 500 plus journals and offers full text for 380 journals. The trial ends November 28, 2009.

Biological and Agricultural Index Plus

Offering online access to the core literature of biology and agriculture, Biological and Agricultural Index Plus covers a wide range of specialties. Topics include agricultural economics, animal science, soil science, plant pathology, and more. The trial ends November 30, 2009.

Credo Reference is a full-text online reference service that contains dictionaries, bilingual dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopedias, quotations and atlases, plus a wide range of subject-specific titles covering everything from art to accountancy, science to Shakespeare and law to literature. The collection includes 410 titles.
