Using ERIC's Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE)
ERIC Journal (EJ) Number: The EJ number (example: EJ 631 835) refers to ERIC journal articles. The OCLC ERIC database will tell you if the library subscribes to the journal listed in each citation. Look for an icon that has a building with a book in front of it, or look for "UNIV OF ARKANSAS AT MONTICELLO." To learn more about the content of the article, use the EJ (ERIC Journal) number to find the abstract of your article in the corresponding CIJE Abstracts volume. The spine of the Abstracts volume indicates the range of EJ numbers (Example: EJ 574 687 - EJ 587 046). ERIC Documents (ED) Number: The ED number (example: ED 456 605) refers to ERIC Documents on Microfiche. ED materials include reports by government agencies, research briefs, conference proceedings, graduate theses and doctoral dissertations. The library has ERIC documents beginning around 1982. ED 272 648 is the first one in our collection. Eric Documents are collected in the Resources in Education (RIE) volumes (Bibl Ref Z 5813 R4), located on the Index Tables.
