The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) (www.uamont.edu/jobs) is seeking applicants for a full-time, twelve-month Workforce Ed Instructor of Arkansas Heavy Equipment Operator Training Academy-Timber located in Warren, AR.  This position is contingent upon availability of funds.
 
Responsibilities: Teach Arkansas Heavy Equipment Operator Training Academy-Timber to students using a variety of teaching aids, methods and techniques following the state approved curricula.  Instructor must maintain an active advisory committee and work closely with timber companies, equipment dealers, city and county officials and other governmental agencies and supervisors.  Will assist in the coordination and instruction of on-site, upgrade instruction requirements for cities, counties and other governmental agencies.  Instructor must be able to organize and maintain a classroom, prepare syllabi, operate Microsoft applications including power points, operate heavy equipment and recruit students.  Teaching responsibilities may include web-based and/or compressed interactive video courses, evenings and summers.
 
Qualifications: Formal education of a baccalaureate degree plus two years of experience in the vocation being taught; OR high school diploma or equivalent plus completion of a one-year advanced training program in a specialized related field, plus five years experience in timber; OR high school diploma or equivalent, plus six years experience in timber.  Must be able to obtain the necessary credentials needed for National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification within one year of employment.
 
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience/excellent fringe benefits.
