Skilled Trades Worker, Journeyman Plumber
|
The University of
Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) (www.uamont.edu/jobs) is seeking applicants for a Skilled Trades Worker Journeyman Plumber. This
position is governed by established trade practices and institution policy.

Responsibilities: Individual will receive work orders from
supervisor to perform a variety of plumbing installations or repairs; design
layout of plumbing needs of proposed installations from blueprints or building
plans; installs and maintains plumbing fixtures which include commodes, urinals,
sinks, and faucets; installs and maintains sewer and other disposal systems
which include sanitary sewers, storm drains, and building/roof drains; installs
and maintains water and natural gas lines which include high and low-pressure
lines, valves, and regulators; responds to emergencies such as unclogging drain
lines, bathrooms, and waste disposal systems and repairing leaks and broken
pipes; and performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
Requires some after hour and weekend work.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include ability to read and
write with comprehension; plus five years of
experience or licensed as a journeyman plumber.
Must be knowledgeable in the installation and
operation of plumbing systems, plumbing codes and
building regulations, blueprints, building plans and
other layouts. Must have the ability to read and
interpret blueprints and other building plans, the
ability to plan and layout the installation and
repair various plumbing systems.

Salary:
Position is a grade C115 on state pay plan
with an entry-level salary of $27,179 / excellent
fringe benefits.
