Position Description: The Resident Director (RD) is a live-in residential leadership position within the division of ResLife. The position is a 12-month appointment for a maximum of two years. The RD is involved in all components of residence hall management, including but not limited to: check in/checkout, staff training/mentorship, strategic planning, student conduct, and student engagement through social, recreational, and educational programs within the residence hall system. An RD has the opportunity to work with first-year students and upperclassmen in traditional residential communities focusing on expanding student learning and leadership experiences. In addition to the broad job responsibilities, the RD position also includes a specialty focus in one of the following areas:
Qualifications: All applicants must be admitted or eligible for admission into an approved graduate program of study. The successful candidate will work for the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) and be granted time for graduate course work and class attendance. Preference will be given to students who have prior applicable experience and who are interested in developing a career in University Housing or Student Affairs. Compensation: Tuition and fee payment (at a pre-approved rate) to any accredited university, monthly stipend of $500, private fully furnished residential apartment, cell phone allowance, and university meal plan. This is a non-benefits eligible position on a twelve-month schedule with a maximum scheduled employment not to exceed two years.
