Assistant Professor of Social Work

The University of
Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) (www.uamont.edu/jobs)
is seeking applicants
for a
nine-month tenure track assistant professor level
faculty position beginning August 2009. UAM, one of
eleven campuses of the University of Arkansas
System, is located in southeastern Arkansas in the
beautiful timberlands, rich in outdoor recreation
activities, and approximately 100 miles south of
Little Rock. UAM is a comprehensive, residential
and commuter, undergraduate institution also
offering selected master’s degree programs.

Responsibilities: Duties include teaching four courses
each semester, student advising, responsibilities,
and university service. Instructors must be able to
teach across the Social Work curriculum. Additional
responsibilities include maintaining CSWE
accreditation and serving as liaison between the
Social Work Program and the community. Preference
will be given to those candidates who strive to be
master teachers, who are committed to the mentoring
of students, and who have a strong interest in
pursuing research.

Qualifications:
An MSW degree from a CSWE
accredited Social Work program and a minimum of two
years social work practice experience in social
services settings is required. A Ph.D. in Social
Work or related field is preferred.
