Assistant Professor of Psychology

The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM)(www.uamont.edu/jobs) is seeking applicants for a position at the rank of assistant professor in psychology.  Appointment will begin in August 2012.  UAM, one of the eleven campuses of the University of Arkansas System, is located in southeastern Arkansas in the beautiful timberlands, rich in outdoor recreation activities, and approximately 100 miles south of Little Rock.  UAM is a comprehensive, residential and commuter, undergraduate institution also offering selected master’s degree programs.

Responsibilities:  In addition to Introduction to Psychology, the successful candidate must be able to teach a wide variety of courses including developmental, child development, and adolescence.  Preference will be given to those candidates who strive to be master teachers, and who are committed to the mentoring of students.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Psychology with preference for experience in teaching developmental psychology or statistics and research methods.  Candidates with earned doctorates will be eligible for a tenure-track position.  ABD candidates who will complete their degrees by August 2012 may also be considered. 

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience with excellent fringe benefits.
