Assistant Director of Education Renewal Zone

The University of
Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) (www.uamont.edu/jobs)
is seeking applicants for an individual to serve as
Assistant Director of Education Renewal Zone (ERZ)
Partnership Office.
This office will assist in providing
meaningful, sustained school improvement for
specified schools in Southeast
Arkansas.
This position is contingent upon availability
of funds.

Responsibilities: The ERZ Partnership Assistant Director will
maintain and disseminate to partnership schools and school districts a directory
of campus resources that could be put in the service of schools through
technical assistance or research; receive requests for technical assistance from
schools and school districts; coordinate responses to those requests with the
appropriate campus resources; serve as the liaison between the ERZ and the
Arkansas State Department of Education Division of ERZ; represent and advocate
on behalf of the ERZ partnership in appropriate campus and off-campus venues;
facilitate the process for developing the ERZ strategic plan for each ERZ
partnership in which the institution is the lead IHE partner; convene quarterly
ERZ meetings; maintain record of ERZ meeting proceedings; and develop and submit
to the Director the annual report of the ERZ activities.
The ERZ Partnership Assistant Director is expected to have a working
knowledge of higher education institutions and be able to bring together the
resources of the institution across academic departments and divisions.
It is further expected that the Assistant Director will be knowledgeable
regarding public school operations, needs, and current reform movements.
The Assistant Director is expected to spend at least fifty percent (50%)
of his or her time in the schools and school districts that are a part of the
ERZ partnership and to facilitate strong linkages between the districts and
schools and the institutions. |
Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a master’s degree
in education or a related field.
A minimum of five (5) years of administrative
experience including managing grants, writing
professional reports, presenting technical reports,
showing initiative and problem solving skills;
knowledge of state and national standards and best
practices that impact support of overall school
improvement is preferred.
Teaching and/or administrative experience in
secondary and higher education is preferred.
