Liberty Island - Sitton stands before the New York City skyline during a 2008 trip for the College Media Adviser's spring convention. Not even the pigeons got him down.

Ronald Sitton, assistant professor of journalism, updates this site of courses available through the Speech and Journalism department in the college of Arts and Humanities Sitton also advises students interested in a journalism minor. In addition to teaching, Sitton advises the award-winning campus newspaper, The Voice, meeting from 3-4 p.m. Tuesday in 106 Wells Hall.

Sitton can be found in 110 Wells Hall during office hours Wednesdays from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. He also holds early office hours Tuesday and Thursday from 8-9:30 a.m. Catch him most any time via e-mail -- sitton at uamont dot edu -- or call his office at 870-460-1138, which he checks less frequently. He receives snail mail at 562 University Dr., P.O. Box 3460, Monticello, Ark., 71656.

Sitton received his doctorate of philosophy in Communication from the University of Tennessee. In addition to teaching, he also freelances, blogs at The Southerner Journal portal and Perpetual Notions. He interacts with old and new friends on LinkedIn and facebook for those wanting to network socially, but doesn't find much time to do the assorted applications.
