My roles in the School of Math and Science is to facilitate faculty research, engage students in research and assist the Dean, especially in matters related to the Natural Sciences and research in general. I strive to assist the faculty in addressing their needs for supplies and equipment, both for research and teaching, and to provide support whenever possible with ongoing research projects. I teach occasionally, either filling in for other faculty or special topics. Spring Semester 2010 I will begin teaching a special topics research class for the ARK-LSAMP students, which will culminate in presentations of their research at the Spring ARK-LSAMP conference.
I also serve as the UAM coordinator for the ARK-LSAMP project, a multi-institution program to encourage underrepresented minority students to select careers in science, technology and mathematics.
