The MSDN Academic Alliance Program allows students enrolled in Computer Information Systems courses to receive available Microsoft software that is used in the instructional classes.
All enrolled students are automatically added to the access list at the beginning of each semester. All information is processed with your UAM e-mail address which will serve as your USERNAME. When you are added, you will receive an e-mail message sent to your UAM e-mail address informing you of your password which is needed to reserve software and receive the Product Key # necessary to install the software on your personal computer.
You must go to the MSDN Academic Allaince Software Center website:
Login with your UAM username and password that you received from the academy by e-mail. Once you have logged in, click on the "software" link. You will see the items that are available by mail order (you pay the postage and handling) and, in the drop down menu, the list of software that you can checkout the CD's for.
Select the software you need and follow the reservation procedures. Go all the way through to receive your Product Key that is necessary to install the software. You need to print out this page so you have the Product Key and you will need to show this sheet to Ms. Donham to check out the CD's.
We have bundled the Visual Studio .NET 2005 CD's (see list below), so you should reserve all of the items in the bundle.
When you are finished reserving the software you need, view your cart to make sure you have everything in the bundle or the individual program, then you can log out. You will receive an e-mail confirming the reservation. You will have 5 days to pick up the CD's and additional 5 days to install the software.
A lot of people will initially be checking out software at the beginning of the semester, so start checking out slowly. Install the software quickly, so others may have the opportunity to do likewise. If you need to update your operating system, then check just this program out and install it. When it is working then reserve the next item. Don't try to check out everything at once. Ms. Donham will issue only one program or bundeled set at a time.
Individuals who do not return the software within the time limit (5 days) will be removed from the program and will be referred to the UAM Judicial Board for additional sanctions on a charge of unlawful appropriation.

There are many more included in the program. If you need something that's not listed, come talk with Dr. Roiger and we can add it to the list. AND NO, you won't be able to get Office or FrontPage. These are considered productivity applications, not developer applications.
