In honor to his parents, Dr. James Roiger established the Raymond O. and Loretta J. Roiger Endowed Small Scholarship Fund for Chi Iota Sigma, the CIS student organization, in December, with matching funds from the UAM Foundation.
The small scholarships, commonly referred to as "Book Stipends," are awarded to eligible Chi Iota Sigma club members every May and December for the following semester. The awardees are selected by the School Scholarship committee from those eligible members who apply. The number of and the amounts of the Book Stipends are determined by the endowment proceeds and by scholarship donations intended for Chi Iota Sigma.
