Contact: Brian Ramsey, UAM Sports Information

MONTICELLO  – The University of Arkansas at Monticello women’s basketball team recorded a 93-46 victory over Tougaloo College on the final day of the Holiday Inn Express Classic.

UAM (6-1) bounced back after dropping a heartbreaker to St. Mary’s on Friday night to shoot close to 55 percent from the floor as a team in the win over Tougaloo (3-7).

Sophomore Erika Brown (Shreveport, La.) also bounced back from scoring one point in the loss to St. Mary’s to lead all scorers in the Tougaloo win with 19 points. Brown connected on 8-of-11 from the field and was a perfect 3-of-3 from the charity stripe. Brown also pulled down eight rebounds.

Junior Nicole Lowe (Jackson, Miss.) recorded her third straight double-digit game and sixth overall with 14 points, while also racking up six rebounds and three assists.

Also reaching double-digits was senior Andrea Dubose (Hickory, Miss.) with 14 points. Dubose scored 19 points in the loss to St. Mary’s, giving her 33 points over the two games and a spot on the all-tournament team.

The Blossoms won the opening tip, scored first, and never relinquished the lead, including their largest advantage of 48 points with just less than three minutes left in regulation.

The Blossoms begin a five-game road trip to end the 2008 portion of their schedule with appearances in the Delta State Classic (December 15-16) and the North Alabama Classic (December 29-30) with an exhibition game at Central Arkansas (December 18) in between.
