defeated
Southern
Arkansas
83-78 in
overtime on
Senior Day
in the
regular
season
finale.
UAM (18-7,
10-4 GSC)
also earned
the No. 2
seed in next
week’s GSC
Championship
Tournament
in
Southaven,
Miss. due to
an
unexpected
loss by
Arkansas
Tech to
Christian
Brothers on
Saturday.
The final
GSC-West
standings
are as
follows:

The Blossoms
defeated
North
Alabama
64-61
earlier this
season on a
last second
shot.
In the win
over
Southern
Arkansas
(8-19, 2-12
GSC),
sophomore
Erika Brown
led the
Blossoms
with 21
points,
while also
picking up
five
rebounds.
Junior
Monica
Perkins-Miller
turned in
her 10th
double-double
of the
season with
13 points
and 13
rebounds in
the win. She
also racked
up four
steals and
four
assists.
Senior
Andrea
Dubose also
reached
double-digits
with 13
points after
shooting
4-of-9 from
the field
and 2-of-5
from
three-point
range.
The Blossoms
improved on
their 36
percent
first half
output to
finish
regulation
with a 55
percent
mark. In the
overtime
period, UAM
outscored
SAU 16-11
and
connected on
8-of-11
free-throws.
The
Blossoms
finished the
game
shooting 46
percent from
the field.
SAU was led
by a
game-high 23
points from
Lynzi
Williams.
Goldie White
and Kmaria
Hobbs also
reached
double-digits
with 20 and
16 points,
respectively.
Four UAM
seniors were
recognized
at the end
of the game
after
playing
their last
regular
season game
as a UAM
Cotton
Blossom.
Those
seniors are:
Tasha Owens,
Addie Lees,
Sharlene
Murphy and
Andrea
Dubose.
