BLOSSOMS ENTER REGION RANKINGS AT NO. 5

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –
The
University of Arkansas at Monticello
women’s basketball went from
un-ranked last week to earning No. 5
ranking in this week’s release of
the NCAA South Region Rankings.
UAM used an historic upset over No.
20 Arkansas Tech followed by a
comfortable win over Southern
Arkansas two days later to boost its
value in the regional rankings
system.
This week, Rollins leads the
rankings with a 17-2 record against
NCAA Division II teams and 15-2
record against in-region opponents,
followed by Delta State (15-5 D2,
15-3 In-Region), West Georgia (13-4
D2, 13-4 In-Region), Fort Valley
State (16-4 D2, 16-4 In-Region), UAM
(13-4 D2, 11-4 In-Region), Lynn
(13-6 D2, 12-4 In-Region), Florida
Southern (13-5 D2, 12-4 In-Region),
Clark Atlanta (13-2 D2, 13-2
In-Region), Barry (14-5 D2, 9-4
In-Region) and Tampa (13-5 D2, 11-5
In-Region).
UAM also earned nine votes in this
week’s USA Today WBCA/ESPN
Top 25 Poll.
At the end of the season, the top
eight teams advance to the NCAA
Regional Tournament, usually hosted
by either the No. 1 or No. 2 seed of
each respective region.
