MONTICELLO – University of Arkansas at Monticello softball coach Alvy Early has announced the signing of two players from Eastern Oklahoma State College to join the team for the 2010 season.
 
Sarah Hayslip (Center, Texas) hit an impressive .441 with 14 homeruns and 60 RBI, while reaching base in just over 47 percent of her at bats this past season. Hayslip signed her national letter of intent in April and joins the team as a shortstop.
 
Teammate Kendra White (Van Buren) hit .298 with five homeruns and 38 RBI, while reaching base in 33 percent of her at bats this season. White also signed her NLI in April and will play catcher at UAM.
 
Early also announced his “early period” signings. From the high school ranks, Faith Lund (P/1B, Bentonville), Lauren Webster (OF, Ben Wheeler, Texas), Maggie Sands (C/OF, Ferris, Texas) and Jessica Dickey (SS, Woodlawn) will join the squad in 2010.
 
Also joining the Blossoms from the junior college ranks are a pair of teammates from Bossier Parish Community College, Ashley Fair (C, Keithville, La.) and Erica Gunter (SS, Katy, Texas).
