BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –
For the third time this season, senior
shortstop Lindsey Randall has been named
the Gulf South Conference West Division
Player of the Week, after leading UAM to
three victories in the league’s
Crossover Tournament.
For the week, Randall (Keithville, La.)
hit.474 (9 for 19), while slugging .842.
She had three multiple-hit performances
and drove in three RBI. She also picked
up her team-leading sixth and seventh
homeruns of the season.
Overall this season, Randall is hitting
a team-best .424 with 50 hits, 14
doubles, one triple and seven homeruns.
She has also knocked in 24 runs and has
stolen seven bases.
Joining Randall from the West this week
is Arkansas Tech pitcher Casey Hammons,
who earns her third consecutive award
after striking out 12 batters in her 15
innings of work at the Crossover.
The Blossoms continue GSC play with a
four-game series at Christian Brothers
starting with a 2 p.m. double-header on
Friday, April 10.
