West Georgia’s Kaley Sullivan smashed a
two-run homerun to left field in the top
of the seventh inning, aiding her team
to a 2-0 win over the University of
Arkansas at Monticello softball team on
the second day of the 2009 GSC Crossover
Tournament.
Senior Lindsey Randall was a perfect 3
for 3 at the plate in the loss and was
the only player on either team to have
more than one hit.
Freshman Kayla Jackson (16-3) was
saddled with the loss after allowing two
runs off three hits, but walked none in
her complete-game loss.
UWG’s Kacie Crider (13-8) earned the win
after allowing eight hits in a
complete-game shut out. Crider struck
out 10 UAM batters, while only giving up
two walks.
UAM continues play in the GSC Crossover
tomorrow (Sunday) with a 10 a.m. contest
against North Alabama and a 12 p.m. game
with No. 2 Alabama-Huntsville.
