INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello softball team improved one spot to No. 8 in the latest edition of the NCAA South Region Rankings.
 
UAM is one six GSC teams ranked in the top 10, including No. 1 Alabama-Huntsville, No. 3 Valdosta State, No. 4 West Florida, No. 9 West Alabama and No. 10 West Georgia.
 
At the end of the season, the top eight seeds of each region advance to the NCAA Regional Tournament, usually hosted by the No. 1 seed of each region.
