LITTLE ROCK, Ark. –
Junior Camron Hurst led the University
of Arkansas at Monticello men’s golf
team to a sixth place finish at the 2009
Bison Fall Golf Classic played September
21-22 at Stonelinks Golf Course.
Hurst (Prattsville, Ark.) turned in a
first round score of 74 and a second
round of 71 for a final two-round score
of 145 and an overall 12th place
individual finish. He finished second in
the field with a total of 27 pars
throughout both rounds.
Senior teammate Devin DeBay (Halifax,
Nova Scotia) was not far behind with
scores of 76 and 71, respectively, for a
17th place finish.
Overall, the team shot 304 in the first
round and 295 in the second round for a
two-round total of 599, just 12 strokes
behind fifth place finisher, John Brown
University.
Central Baptist College won the event
with a team total of 565, followed
closely by Arkansas-Fort Smith’s final
score of 568 and Harding University’s
569.
Central Baptist’s Cameron Angeman took
the individual title after a three-way
playoff. Angeman, Henderson State’s Matt
Atkins and Harding’s Blake Chase each
had a final scores of 136.
