Tommy Barnes

The UAM coach with the longest tenure and most victories is Tommy Barnes. Barnes played for the Weevils from 1969 to 1971, became an assistant coach in 1980 and was named UAM’s 20th head coach in 1985. Barnes coached the Weevils for 12 seasons, compiling a record of 69-53-1 before retiring in November, 1996. On September 28, 2002, he was be inducted into the UAM Sports Hall of Fame.
