FLORENCE,
Ala. – Sophomore quarterback
Scott Buisson has been
named as one of the 24
candidates in the running for
the 2008 Harlon Hill Trophy, the
most prestigious award given at
the NCAA Division II level.
Buisson joins five others in the
NCAA’s second super region to be
considered for the award.
Joining him are Tuskegee
quarterback Jacary Atkinson,
Arkansas Tech quarterback Cole
Barthel, North Alabama
quarterback A.J. Milwee, West
Alabama linebacker Garry Pack
and Tusculum quarterback Corey
Russell.
Buisson is the only sophomore in
the entire Top 24. The others
are 17 seniors and six juniors.
The list of candidates was
announced Thursday by the
National Harlon Hill Committee.
Players are nominated and voted
on by the sports information
directors at the 154 NCAA
Division II football-playing
institutions. The 24 initial
candidates will be placed on
regional ballots and the top two
players from each of the four
NCAA regions will advance to the
national ballot when regional
voting concludes on November 14.
