UAM VOLLEYBALL ENDS SEASON WITH
FOUR-SET LOSS TO NORTH ALABAMA

SEARCY, Ark. –
The University of Arkansas at Monticello
volleyball team ended its season with a 1-3
loss to North Alabama in the opening round
of the 2009 Gulf South Conference
Championship Tournament.
Final game scores were 25-19, 17-25, 23-25
and 22-25. With the loss, UAM finishes the
season one game below .500 with an overall
record of 17-18. UNA improves to 20-13 and
will play in the semifinals of the
tournament against the winner of the
Henderson State-West Florida match played at
2:30 p.m. Friday.
The Blossoms came out
strong in the first set, hitting .258 as a
team and has 12 of its 25 points coming off
kills.
North Alabama took over
from that point, winning three consecutive
sets and had at least 15 kills in each set.
For UAM, true freshman
Amanda Dills led the way with a match-high
16 kills on 39 attempts and only three
errors for a match-high .333 hitting
percentage. Senior Cayla Knapp was close
behind with nine kills and a .250 hitting
percentage.
UNA had four players reach
double-digits offensively, led by Sarah
Roberts’ 14 kills. Cara Gregg was the next
highest with 13, followed by Allison Jacobs
with 12 and Ari Smith with 10.
