October 29, 2009
Contact: Brian Ramsey, UAM Sports Information
MONTICELLO –
University of
Arkansas at
Monticello
student-athletes
from all teams
hosted more than
700 children
from the
community at
Tuesday’s
“Trunk-or-Treat”
event.
Truck beds and
car trunks full
of candy were
set up in the
parking lot by
the UAM Science
Center from
5:30-7:30 p.m.,
giving children
an opportunity
to meet the UAM
players and get
a head start on
Halloween
trick-or-treating.
“This event was
a huge success,”
said UAM
Athletic
Director Chris
Ratcliff. “We
are blessed with
faithful
supporters of
UAM in this
community, and
we are delighted
to have the
chance to give
back… It was
extremely
rewarding to see
our
student-athletes
interacting and
creating
positive
influences with
the young
children.”
