Designed to recognize an adult education student who received
a General Educational Development (GED) credential. Priority will
be given to education majors. Amount of scholarship varies (based
on 90% accrued annual interest of the Luther H. Black Memorial
Scholarship Fund).
Applicants must:
- Submit applications by July 15 of each year
- Meet the criteria for enrollment in a state-approved adult
education program and be a GED graduate
- Demonstrate concerns for humanity, leadership skills, good
citizenship, and professional promise
- Demonstrate intent to enroll in an accredited post-secondary
institution
- Be recommended by a local scholarship committee under the
supervision of a local program coordinator
