Who May Use Campus Rec Areas

Outdoor Activity Areas

The UAM campus offers a variety of facilities for the university community to pursue recreational activities in the outdoor environment. These areas are restricted to use by current UAM students, faculty & staff only.

Activity Areas

Sand Volleyball Courts: 2 sand courts located northwest of the UC. No glass containers, golf clubs, or pets. Sand is not to be removed from the courts. Volleyballs available for check-out from the IM/Rec office with current UAM I.D.

Horseshoe Pits: 2 pits located west of Maxwell Hall, near the pavilion.
Horseshoes available for check-out from the IM/Rec office with current UAM I.D.

Disc Golf Course: 3 pole holes located in the Oak Grove between BBC & the Tennis Courts. Rules of the game are posted near pole hole #1. Flying Disc available for check-out from the IM/Rec office with current UAM I.D.

Outdoor Basketball Goals: located on the edge of the north UC parking lot.

Intramural Sports Fields:
available for recreational play or Intramural practice; UC IM Field is located west of the University Center & Spirit IM Field is located south of the Band Hall. No hitting of golf balls on either field. All users must abide by a one hour time limit if others are waiting to use the field. Equipment available for check-out from the IM/Rec office with current UAM I.D.

Tennis Courts: 3 courts with coin-operated lights are located on the south side of campus. Only tennis related equipment & activities are allowed. Courts are not to be used after 11:00pm. All users must abide by a one hour time limit if others are waiting to use the field. Tennis racquets available for check-out from the IM/Rec office with current UAM I.D.

400 Meter All-Weather Track: located in Cotton Boll Stadium. No bicycles or motorized vehicles. NOTE: Track is managed by UAM Athletics, 460-1058.

Weevil Pond: available for fishing only; no swimming, boating, or other activities. Consult the UAM Student Handbook for additional pond policies.

Weevil Pond Walk: 4/10 mile brick & cement walking trail around Weevil Pond. 2 and a half laps = 1 mile.

       Please promptly report all misuse/abuse of an area to Public Safety, 
                            460-1000 or Intramural director, 460-1046.
