About SSS at the
University of Arkansas at Monticello
Mission
-
To
provide exemplary services that ensure SSS participants have a successful
college experience by providing academic support and other services that assist
eligible undergraduate students with adequate support to stay in college until
they earn their baccalaureate degree.

To
ensure that SSS participants are acclimated to the UAM
climate, able to confidently navigate through the UAM system, and graduate to
become a valuable contribution to society.
Objectives
-
To
provide comprehensive academic and student support services to 160
low-income, first-generation and disabled students enrolled at the
University of Arkansas at Monticello that will help achieve the major
program objectives:

Enhanced academic achievement.

Increased retention and graduation rates.

Increase
enrollment of Gateway participants in professional and graduate programs.

Foster
a supportive institutional climate that will increase the average
satisfaction rating of Gateway participants with college environment.

Enable
program participants to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to
pursue the full range
of academic and career options available.
Program Goals:

Provide
supportive services each year to 160 students who meet federal
eligibility criteria.
