Dear "The Voice," In response I would like to give an answer to a question posed in the Evolution article. "If I am taking a science class, why should I be forced to study a religious ego-trip. I can understand that if I am in seminary, but in science class there is not place for 'it just happened.' That is destroying the very essence of science." First of all, to answer the question of why should I be forced ... is because an overwhelming majority of people do not believe in Evolution. Why should we be forced to study a THEORY taught as a fact? The number of atheist scientists that are forsaking Evolution every year is pretty eye catching. And with all do respect, I think the author is very off stating that the theory of I.D. is "it just happened." Ummmm, isn't that precisely what the "big bang" theory teaches? Another thing that is off; it is insulting to say that we Christians believe the way we do because "support groups" taught us that since birth. Most of us hold these ultimate convictions because we have felt God change our lives in ways that cannot be explained effectively to a non-believer. I.D. supporters are looking mostly to implement the theory WITH Evolution. The school board in Pennsylvania that was booted out for letting teachers teach I.D. only required a ONE MINUTE statement that said something to the effect of, some life forms are too complex to be explained by Evolution, and that Intelligent Design is an alternative solution. Futhermore, I.D. is different than Creationism. Would to God we could teach Creationism in classrooms as well. The "very essence of Science" the author talks about is being destroyed by people too narrow-minded to accept another theory than that which has been shoved down OUR throats for years. Science is defined by Webster as the state of knowledge or knowing. How is knowing more, for example another theory besides Evolution, destroying Science if Science is knowing more?

Gary Marshall, Ph.D. Police Log Hey, I am wondering what
happened to the Police Log? That was one of my favorite parts of the paper. I
like to know what all has been happening on campus. This usually helps me out,
for example, the other night, I saw someone running away from our beloved campo.
I want to know what happened! did they ever stop? Were they arrested? and
countless other questions. Please put this back in the paper. And I am not the
only one who misses it, I have heard others say the same.
Adviser's note: Due to illness, changing servers and the holi-daze,
the police log remains missing for one more issue. We'll have a complete log
covering that missing time in the next issue. We apologize. Also, you may have noticed the delay in getting the
Voice posted. We've been trying to move to a new server, with patchy success. We
hope to get things out on time the rest of the semester. Thanks for your
interest in the Voice. - RS
