Farewell - Senior Kameshia Melton played in her last home game. She had 16 kills and received an award.

Despite a 16-kill effort by senior Kameshia Melton (Grapevine, Texas), the University of Arkansas at Monticello's Cotton Blossoms (11-20, 2-9) lost a 3-0 decision to the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns on Tuesday night at Steelman Fieldhouse.

The Blossoms dropped the opening two games 30-28 and 30-28 before falling 30-22 in the third game.

Melton tied ATU’s Racheal Urquhart for a match high in kills. Sophomore Nicole Ferguson (Brentwood, Tenn.) and junior Taura Rush (Joseph City, Ariz.) both notched a double-digit kill total, as Ferguson added 11 kills and Rush added 10 kills.

Junior Maegan Martin (Burnet, Texas) dished out 35 assists, while junior MacKenzie Willis (Andrews, Texas) led UAM with 15 digs. Martin added 14 digs, while freshman Stephanie Hatten (Baytown, Texas) added 11 and freshman Vikki Crisco (Saginaw, Texas) pitched in 10.

The Blossoms will conclude their 2007 season with a match Sunday against Christian Brothers University in Memphis. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
