The School of Forest Recourses recently received a new addition to their department. Curtis Vanderschaaf is said to be a hard worker, a man who can bring a fresh perspective to the table. “It’s been fun working with him, and I think he will be great,” said Jamie Schuler, a co-worker of Vanderschaaf. Vanderschaaf earned his doctorate at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and Virginia State University. Born in Omaha, Neb., Vanderschaaf was intrigued by the idea of working for UAM. “I enjoy that UAM is such a laid back campus, and that I am relatively close to family and friends here,” Vanderschaaf said.
Though this may be his first faculty position Vanderschaaf
worked various positions on the campus from 1999-2001, he says he plans to
work for UAM as long as possible.
