Oct. 9

   Make a couple of traffic stops.  Monitor a couple of groups around Maxwell Hall and Royer Hall.  Out to check identification cards.

Oct. 10

   Boost at Jeter North.  In the office for a few for fingerprinting.  Out at Agriculture parking lot for an unlock.

   Out at Harris Hall to take a report (see case file). Out at  the office speaking to officer about the case.

   Received a call from resident assistant at Bankston Hall regarding a theft of property (see case file).

   Lowered the flag to half mast for Arkansas solider killed in action.

   Escort for Homecoming parade. Monitor traffic during Spirit Assembly in front of the John F. Gibson University Center.

   A vendor selling clothing had began to set up behind Bankston and told him he could not sell his clothes on campus. Vendor loaded back up and left the campus.

   Out with a student that had backed into a deep ditch by the University apartments.  Called Monticello Police Department and asked for a wrecker.

   A call from the on-duty resident assistant at Horsfall Hall advising that the third-floor bathroom and hallway was flooded because the drains were stopped up.  Contacted maintenance who decided it could wait until the morning.

Oct. 11

   Fire alarm reported at Bankston Hall.  A fire extinguisher had been discharged on the second floor.  System reset and returned to normal.

   Make four traffic stops for speeding.

   A call of a loud group around Maxwell Hall.  Made contact with several students and asked them to disperse.

Oct. 12

   Traffic stop with UAM student for no stop at stop sign at Physical Plant drive and Forestry building.  Issued UAM citation for the same.

   Out at Scogin Drive next to fire station two with Monticello P.D. on a traffic stop.  Out to tape off Harris Hall parking lot.

   Fire alarm at Horsfall Hall.  Found first-floor hall smoke alarm tripped.  Maintenance arrived and checked system and reset.  Let students back in dorm.

Oct. 13

   Working tailgating and Homecoming events.  Two fire alarms at Horsfall Hall, and one fire alarm at University apartments.  Directing traffic at various locations, all appeared 10-4.

   Out to lock Band Hall.  Doors open and no one was in the building.  There is supposed to be a student worker in the building any time it is open after hours, and this is the fourth night that I have worked and locked the Band All with no one inside.

   Fire alarm at Horsfall Hall.  Found pull station pulled on the third floor.  The graduate assistant told me that this is the second alarm of the same kind today.  Reset the pull station and the alarm.  The resident assistant and myself talked with the student, and I advised them of the state punishment for false fire alarm. No one confessed to the alarm.

   Traffic stop with UAM student for no stop at stop sign at University and Lakeshore for speeding on Lakeshore and no stop at stop sign on University and Scogin.  Issued UAM citation for the same.

Oct. 14

   Have around 15 students around the pond in a group.  Out with them for a minute; they were just hanging out and must not have school in the morning. No other activity around campus.  Some of the students left the pond area shortly after I talked with them; the core group left around 0230.

Oct. 15

   On patrol issuing parking citations with other officer.  Traffic stop for loud music and expired parking permit.  Confiscated four coolers containing alcohol.

   Myself and another officer escorted one female faculty member and one female student to Delta Counseling.  Myself and other officer went off campus to Wal-Mart to pick up materials.  Back on campus briefly, then returned to Delta Counseling to return above women to Harris Hall.

   A call from the on-duty resident assistant at the University apartments who said that his key would not open a student door in the A apartments.  No problem experienced unlocking the door.

   Out at Bankston Hall with a small group of students in front of the dorm; reminded them of the no loitering after 10 p.m. rule.

   A call about the smell of marijuana from the southwest wing of Bankston Hall first floor; unable to pinpoint the room.

Oct. 16

   Received two calls from a student requesting his vehicle to be unlocked. He stated he was at Wal-Mart.  I then told him I could not leave campus to unlock vehicles.  He then called again and asked how long it would be before I could get there to unlock his vehicle.  I, again, told him that I could not leave campus to unlock his vehicle.

Oct. 17

   Raining and very windy on campus with possible severe weather until 12 p.m.

   The rain stopped with all severe weather to the north of Drew County.  Weather watches have been canceled for this area at this time.

   Traffic stop with UAM student for no stop at stop sign on Forestry Drive.  Issued verbal warning.

   Out with a group of students at the University Center parking lot.  The group was getting a little loud but not causing any problems.  They were trying to stay away from the dorm.  I asked them to keep noise down and had no more problems.

Oct. 19

   Out at the Science Center to speak with subject about case.  Subject was not in class.  Out at Science Center for minor accident (see case file). 

   While driving by the Bookstore, I was stopped by a student and informed that the trash can in front of the Memorial Classroom Building was on fire.  I notified a maintenance worker driving by, and they put out the fire.

   Out at the Babin Business Center to answer complaint about a suspicious note found by the back door.  Note appears to be a fraternity or sorority treasure hunt clue.  Two additional signs recovered.

   Report of fire alarm at Bankston Hall.  Someone on second deck pulled the cable on a fire extinguisher.  Cable re-inserted, all 10-4.

   While in the office, two female subjects came into the Public Safety office and said that one of them had been pushed around by a male subject who resides at Bankston Hall.  Out at Bankston to make the arrest and transport the subject to the Drew County Detention Facility (see case file).

Oct. 20

   Received a call from DCDF about a student arrested last night.  They have no room to detain him further.  Told them to OR the subject.

   Out with Monticello P.D. at the university apartments in reference to an incident which happened in town that may have involved a student.

Oct. 21

   A call of a loud group in front of Royer Hall.  Made contact with the group and asked them to move away from the dorm and keep the noise down.

Oct. 23

   Out to University Center with another officer to assist with Mothers Against Drunk Driving class on drinking.

   Received a call from resident assistant at Bankston Hall stating that the video camera for the back parking lot was out.  Advised him to put a work order in.
