Sept. 24 Went to Steelman Fieldhouse to talk to coaches about an incident at the football game. Issue citations around campus. Unlock vehicle at Royer Hall; unable to unlock. Go to another unlock at Royer. Make a traffic stop; issue non-student citations for no driver's license and running a stop sign. Went to Residence Life to talk with people about a couple of incidents. Out to talk with subjects involved in incident. Advised them it was being handled by Residence Life. Received call from subject wanting to ask about incident later. Advised her to contact Residence Life. Make traffic stop; advise student to slow down. Sept. 27 Complaint of parking on the grass on the west side of Drew Central. Report of a student passed out at Royer. Ambulance already notified, and campus nurse was advised. Student was transported via ambulance to Drew Memorial Hospital. A call of a stolen cell phone at the University Center. Out at the U.C. to take a report. Traffic stops for stop sign and lights.
Sept. 28 Direct traffic and issued citations. Boost vehicle at Royer Hall. Unlock vehicle at Memorial Classroom Building. Out at Public Safety office to assist with decals and answering questions about different things. Give out information to people. Out to assist Maintenance crew with removal of tree from Public Safety. Received a call from a resident of the University Apartments requesting an officer to stop by as there was someone banging on her door and windows. Upon arrival, I found that it was students "playing." The students banging on the door and windows had left the area. I informed the girls that they should have told me that the two males were playing. Someone apparently ran over the crosswalk sign in front of the Wesley Foundation and Missionary Baptist Student Fellowship. One side of the sign is bent up into a "U" shape. Sept. 29 Out to talk with a couple of students at Maxwell Hall. Boost vehicle at Royer Hall. Go check on vehicle behind the Science Center. 10-4. Bad accident in the vicinity of Pine Hill. Ambulance transporting critical patient from the accident. Monticello Police Department units blocked intersections in the Square and Highway 278 West. I reported to Highway 425 and Old Warren Road to close it in order to expedite the ambulance arrival at the hospital. At approximately 0500, I received an automated call for a fire alarm at the B Apartments. Upon arrival, I checked the alarm panel and found that the smoke alarm was going off in B208 south bedroom. Found the resident of the apartment's north bedroom and had him accompany me to the apartment. No smoke or other signs of fire. I checked the entire apartment with nothing found. The south bedroom resident is out of town; however, I did find the television on in the bedroom. Turned off the TV and reset the alarm in the presence of Duty Maintenance worker. Attempted to contact the Resident Assistant on duty, but his phone transferred to a FAX machine. I then contacted the Graduate Assistant on duty and reported the incident to her. Sept. 30 Out at Weevil Pond to give out card and
