A new teacher for the Education Department starts
her first year at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Tracie Jones, an assistant for Education Renewal
Zones, helps students become future teachers. She also instructs them
on how to use technology.
Jones got her bachelor's degree in education at Oklahoma
Christian University and masters in education and technology at Wallden
University in Md. She worked as a classroom teacher in Okla. then moved
to Monticello to work for the Education Co-op. Soon, an opportunity came
to teach for a higher education at
UAM.
"I'm very pleased that she has agreed to serve the School Education
Technology Committee," Jeff Longing, UAM's Instructor of Eduction, said.
"She will be an asset to this
committee and to the school of education as a whole".
Jones' family includes her husband Brian Jones, the campus minister
for the Christian
in Action, 9-year-old daughter Hannah Jones and 4-year-old Zach Jones.
All support
UAM sports. She helped the CIA start the tailgating movement in 2000,
now held at every home game.
