The Student Government Association held its first meeting of the fall semester Aug. 28 in the John F. Gibson University Center Caucus Room. Topics from the meeting included:

·        Homecoming planned activities and possible ideas for the week;

·        A bi-monthly movie night for Monday nights in the U.C. Green Room;

·        Showing the World-Series Baseball game in the Green Room;

·        Poker tournaments;

·        Activities scheduled for the Weevils first home game of the season Sept.1.

  Jasmine Bolen suggested a suggestion box on Movie Nights so students could provide ideas for future movies. Director of Student Programs and Activities Lindsey Kight said Aramark would provide refreshments free of charge for the event. The first movie night will start Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Green Room.

  A drive-in movie will take place Friday of Homecoming week Oct. 6-13. Those attending the meeting were asked to bring other ideas for events during homecoming week.

   The next SGA meeting will take place Sept. 25 at 12:40 p.m. in the Caucus Room. SGA invites all UAM students to participate in the meetings.
