Elizabeth Chandler

   The University family expresses sympathy to the family of Elizabeth Chandler.  "Liz" Chandler passed away Saturday,  Sept. 1.  She was an employee at Arkansas A & M and the University of Arkansas at Monticello from 1952 until 1975.  She served as Secretary to Chancellor Claude Babin.  Her son, Tony Chandler, was a faculty member in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at UAM from 1966 until his retirement in 2000.

   Visitation took place Wednesday, Sept. 5 in the home of Henri Mason.  A memorial service was held Thursday, Sept. 6 at the First United Methodist Church in Monticello.

   A memorial gift to the general scholarship fund will be made on behalf of the faculty, staff and students.

Irene H. Puckett

   The University family is saddened to learn of the passing of long-time faculty member Irene H. Puckett Sept. 3.  Puckett taught psychology in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department from 1966 until 1983 when she was granted Assistant Professor Emeritus. 

   She was living in Magnolia at the time of her death.  A graveside service was held Friday, Sept. 7 at the Cave City Cemetery in Cave City.  A family visitation was held Friday at Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City.    

   A memorial gift will be made on behalf of the faculty, staff and students.
