Tau Kappa Epsilon set out Toys for Tots donation boxes Nov. 26. The group will pick up the boxes Dec. 7.

The toys can be stuffed animals, coloring books, learning books but no plastic toys. Members of the campus community can drop of donations in the Babin Business Center, the Math and Science Center, Willard Hall and the Memorial Classroom Building.

Members of the Monticello community can drop off donations in town at Walgreens and Simmons First Bank. Memory Frazer, a teacher of physical sciences, will give extra credit to students in her class for donating toys.

After the fraternity collects the toys, the TKE’s will transport them to the Children's Hospital in Little Rock, to be given to the less fortunate children in the hospital. TKE hosted Toys for Tots since its colony was founded at UAM in the spring of 2001. TKE brother Matt Watts said the toy drive is a good idea.

“It gives me a good feeling inside, a feeling like a kid that may not have had a good Christmas could have one,” Watts said.

Another TKE brother Matt Bowers said last year the TKE’s received enough toys for two truckloads, but they could always use more.
