The Arkansas Educational Television Network will present “Great Scenic Railway Journeys: Celebrating North America’s Steam Railways” Saturday, Dec. 8 at 9 a.m.

This program visits 17 of North America’s most historic and scenic tourist steam railroads. It is a journey steeped in the history of a great land where steam trains provided raw power to blaze new trails and build the United States and Canada. The special also chronicles the efforts to preserve and restore the relics of the era of steam.

Grammy award-winning musician and storyteller David Holt hosts. Program Producer Robert VanCamp will be live in the AETN studios for breaks during the broadcast.

The Arkansas Educational Television Network, http://www.aetn.org, provides lifelong learning opportunities, improves and enhances Arkansans’ lives and celebrates the unique culture of Arkansas through its programming and services. AETN’s analog and digital transmitters and numerous cable system connections give it statewide reach.
