Shopping Around - Registrar's Assistant Jennifer Schuler browses the items up for auction, including watches, stained glass ornaments and umbrellas. Ambassador Hope McEachern, sophomore, monitored the auction.

The Ambassadors sponsored a silent auction for United Way of Drew County Nov. 28-29 in Harris Hall. All proceeds go toward the United Way Chapter.

The United Way Chapter helps fund many organizations.  They include the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Humane Society, Youth Council, Senior Citizens, 4-H, Girl Scouts, Special Olympics Drew County Literacy Program, Family and Children’s Services and others.

Brooke Rodgers, admissions and special recruitment, said the United Way Chapter helps a lot of people and this is a great way to help them.

Director of Admissions Mary Whiting gathered items for the auction.

Some of the items included an autographed picture of quarterback Brett Favre, an overnight stay at UAM’s Trotter House, an engraved brick on the Weevil walk, an MP3 player, jewelry, DVD’s, CD’s, candles, books and watches.

“The Ambassadors are happy to have the opportunity to support the United Way,” Whiting said.
