Earl Charles The University family expresses sympathy to Earl Charles, employee in the Maintenance Department, in the passing of his son, Terrance Charles. The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept.1, at 2:30 p.m., at the Church of Christ in Warren. A memorial gift will be made on behalf of the faculty, staff and students. Jimmy Johnson The University family expresses sympathy to Lisa Higgins, Bookstore employee, in the passing of her father Jimmy Johnson August 24. The funeral service was held August 27 at Frazer's Funeral Home in Warren. A memorial gift will be made on behalf of the faculty, staff and students. Vicky Ilene Manning The University family expresses sympathy to Glenn Manning, assistant professor in the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences, in the passing of his mother Vicky Ilene Manning Aug. 21. A memorial gift was made on behalf of the faculty, staff and students. Nyta Tharp Cabaniss The University family expresses sympathy to Roy Cabaniss, professor in the School of Business, in the passing of his mother Nyta Tharp Cabaniss Aug. 12. Jackie Steward The University family expresses sympathy to Rusty Rippee, associate director of the Physical Plant, in the passing of his mother-in-law Jackie Steward Aug. 11. Evanne Waldron The University family expresses sympathy to Phyllis Waldron, educational specialist/counselor in Gateway Student Support Services, in the passing of her mother-in-law Evanne Waldron of Hatboro, Pa. Aug. 9. Dorothy Daniels The University family expresses sympathy to Mary Foster, accounting technician in the Personnel Office, in the passing of her sister Dorothy Daniels Aug. 6. A memorial gift was made on behalf of the faculty, staff and students. Elwood Shade The University family is saddened to learn of the passing of Elwood Shade July 22. Shade began serving in 1957 as a faculty member in the Forestry Department of Arkansas A&M and continued his service to the UAM School of Forest Resources before being granted emeritus status in 1981. Since his retirement, he has been an active supporter and friend to UAM. Vertis Lee Harris The University family expresses sympathy to Norman Mapp, Plant Maintenance coordinator, in the passing of his mother-in-law Vertis Lee Harris July 16. Laketria Wells The University family expresses sympathy to the family of Belinda Wells, instructor in the Division of Nursing, in the tragic loss of her daughter Laketria Wells and four grandchildren. The family members were victims of a vehicle accident July 14. Gen Hudgins The University family expresses sympathy to Jim Hudgins, director of the Physical Plant, in the passing of his mother Gen Hudgins July 3. A memorial gift was made on behalf of the faculty, staff and students. Azzie Lee Gardner The University family expresses sympathy to Charles Harris, employee at UAM COT-McGehee, in the passing of his mother Azzie Lee Gardner June 15. A memorial gift was made on behalf of the faculty, staff and students. Peggy Higgins The University family expresses sympathy to Lisa Higgins, bookstore employee, in the passing of her grandmother Peggy Higgins. Mary Margaret Kirchman The University family expresses sympathy to the family of Mary Margaret Kirchman of Russellville, in her passing June 2. Kirchman was the wife of Robert L. “Bob” Kirchman, professor emeritus who retired in 1987 after serving UAM for 26 years. Kirchman was well known in our community as a teacher of public school music and private piano lessons. James Juey The University family expresses sympathy to the family of James Huey in his passing May 26. Huey was assistant professor emeritus, having served UAM for 31 years from 1966 through 1997. A memorial gift was made on behalf of the faculty, staff and students. William E. "Bill" Clark The University family expresses sympathy to the family of William E. “Bill” Clark in his passing May 15. Clark was a good friend to the University, serving as a member of the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees from 1994 until 2004 and as chairman from 2002 until 2004. A donation was made to the Parks Conservancy in Clark’s honor on behalf of the faculty, staff and students. James J. Holt

James was a UAM junior majoring in health and physical education. A
