The Organizational Fair took place in the John F. Gibson University Center Green Room Aug. 22, with 26 organizations participating. The fair, held at the beginning of each school year, allows students to become familiar with the different organizations around campus. Director of Student Programs and Activities Lindsey Kight said the fair provides students the opportunity to learn about student life. “The fair informs our new and current students about organizations and how they can get involved on campus,” Kight said. Sophomore Larry Livers said the fair provides beneficial information to students. “You find out about different organizations and places in the community,” Livers said. “It basically introduces you to Monticello.” Junior Donald Minnieweather said he observed how first-year students could get involved in the community. “I like the way incoming freshman can come and interact with the different organizations that UAM offers,” Minnieweather said. “They get involved in school by participating in different activities, sororities, fraternities and different organizations.” Three local
banks, Parkway, Union and Simmons, also participated at the fair. Amber Curry and Dona McLain won a $50 savings bond from Union Bank. Have a comment? Please e-mail us. ŠThe Voice 2007 Revised 01/13/2008 03:22:12 PM — http://www.uamont.edu/Organizations/TheVoice/5_1/fair.htm |
