Sports Editor The UAM Boll Weevil football team will travel to Cleveland, MS this weekend to take on #14 nationally ranked Delta State in its final game of the 2006 season. They are looking to gain their second win of the season.
The Boll Weevils are
coming off a 51-3 loss from #16 Valdosta State. The Boll Weevils are
on a seven game losing skid tied for the longest with
Ouachita Baptist who also has lost seven consecutive. The
Boll Weevils have only one win this season and can add one to their
1-9 record with an upset over Delta State this weekend.
Delta is also playing
for a share of the conference title in the case of a North Alabama
loss to West Alabama. The Boll Weevils and the Statesmen match up has
almost always been the coldest and most wet game of the season
for at least the past few seasons. The Game is scheduled for a
3:00 P.M. kickoff.
