Scratching the Itch

Did you ever watch "Bill Nye, the Science Guy" on t.v. when you were younger? I watched his show, religiously, every Sat. morning. The science guy explains scientific things in a manner in which anyone can understand.  In one of his columns, the "Science Guy" explains why we itch when we scratch. The body re-grows skin cells and has to get rid of the old, dead ones. So, our brain tells 5 percent of the nerves running from our skin to our spinal cord that we need to scratch the skin that needs to lose old skin cells. Pretty cool, huh? If you have scientific questions of your own, you can ask Bill Nye yourself  at www.encarta.msn.com.

Don't drink and drive in New York.

The new drinking law in New York states that a person can be charged with driving while intoxicated if they have .18 grams of alcohol in their system.  According Rochester DWI lawyer Ed Fiandachto, a person's body can produce that much alcohol naturally. The lawmakers should have put blood alcohol content, instead of grams. This means that you can not even take a shot of beer and then drive in New York, without meeting the blood level requirements for a DWI.
