UAM Students and Faculty Participate in Music Concert

University of Arkansas-Monticello faculty and students will present a free chamber music concert Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Harris Recital Hall of the UAM Music Building.

The recital will feature UAM faculty members Juan Serna, violin, Stephen Trana, clarinet and Linda Webster, piano. Joining them are student clarinet quartet members Quartisha Johnson, Kelly Martin, Kelli Stevens and Vanessa Waite.

The program features "the Suite"

from Voyageur sans bagages, "Op. 157b" by Darius Milhaud for violin, clarinet, and piano; as well as works for that combination by Grieg, Farkas, Bonfá, Ginastera, and Dvorák. The clarinet quartet will perform Charles Gounod’s "Funeral March of a Marionette" along with works by J.S. Bach and Scott Joplin.
