Will Collins
Sports Editor

The UAM volleyball team has two games remaining on their conference schedule that are must-win games in order for them to advance to play in the conference tournament. Only the top four teams may advance to the tournament.

The Cotton Blossoms (4-6), are currently fifth and are on a seven-game skid with the latest loss coming from the Lady Tigers of Ouachita Baptist this past Tuesday. The Lady Tigers swept the Cotton Blossoms with game scores: 30-16, 30-21 and 30-24.

The Cotton Blossoms do not play another game until next week when they will face Southern Arkansas University Riderettes in Magnolia on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. Their final conference game of the season will be against Christian Brothers University on the following Friday here at 7 p.m.

Arkansas Tech (4-5), who is just above the Cotton Blossoms in the conference standings, has three games remaining. Ouachita Baptist, Harding and Henderson State are the top three teams in the conference and are also the teams Arkansas Tech must play. UAM has to play Southern Arkansas and Christian Brothers who are the last two teams in the standings. UAM swept both teams in their previous match ups.

Senior Katherine Taju of Panama City, Panama, still leads the conference with 461 kills on the season. Maegan Martin, a sophomore from Burnet, Texas, is in second with her 1220 assists. Amie Kronk, a senior from San Antonio, Texas, is ninth with 4.27 digs per game and senior Amanda Sayre of Del City, Okla., is eighth with 3.72 kills per game.
