Sports Editor New head Women's Basketball coach Chris Ratcliff graduated from Dayton High School in Dayton, Texas. He received his Masters of Science Degree in Sports Administration and Bachlor of Science Degree in Sports and Community Management in Parks and Recreation. He played all four years of basketball in high school. He was the assistant women’s basketball coach at San Jacinto College, Houston, Texas, from 1999 to 2003. His most previous job was as recruiting coordinator/assistant women’s basketball coach at Henderson State in Arkadelphia from 2003 to 2006. At San Jacinto, San Jacinto College advanced twice to the Region XIV Tournament for the first time in 19 years, during the last two years he assisted. While at Henderson State, he accomplished many things such as; Six (6) All-Gulf South Conference selections, Two (2) All-Americans, One (1) Academic All-American, Back-to-Back-to-Back 20 win seasons, Only Gulf South Conference program to post 20+ wins in the past four seasons, Back-to-Back-to-Back Gulf South Conference Tournament appearances, Back-to-Back-to-Back NCAA Tournament appearances, Only Gulf South Conference program to advance to the past four NCAA Tournaments, Back-to-Back-to-Back NCAA South Regional Final appearances, 2004 HSU School Record for Wins (23), 2004 Gulf South Conference Champions, 2004 NCAA-II South Regional Champions, 2004 NCAA-II Final Four, 2005 HSU School Record for Wins (25), 2005 NCAA-II Sweet Sixteen, 2006 HSU School Record for Wins (29), 2006 Gulf South Conference West Division Champions, 2006 Gulf South Conference Tournament Finalist, 2006 NCAA-II South Regional Champions, 2006 NCAA-II Elite Eight. Henderson State Head Coach Jeff Caldwell said, "Chris, being our primary recruiter, has been a national mainstay when it comes to recruiting at the NCAA-II, level while at HSU. His tireless work has helped Henderson State remain one of the country’s prominent and most successful programs. Our preseason and current ranking demonstrates how hard he has worked to bring the best players in the country to Arkadelphia and Henderson State. What else can I say about Chris other than we returned one player from last year’s squad and again we are ranked in the WBCA top ten and reached the Elite Eight." Coach Ratcliff is married to Andrea
