Susan Inman, director of elections for the Pulaski County Election Commission, shares her knowledge of the voting process in the next episode of “Bringing U.S. Foreign Policy Home,” airing on the Arkansas Educational Television Network Friday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m.

Inman previously served as director of elections for former Arkansas Secretary of State Sharon Priest. She is a member of the Organization for Security and Operation in Europe (OSCE) and has served internationally as an international election monitor in several countries in Eastern Europe.

Inman will share her experiences as an election monitor, her knowledge of the international process, details on how to become an observer and how she has applied her international learning experiences to the election process in Arkansas. Inman met with host Lisa Ferrell at the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service in Little Rock. Ferrell, a Little Rock attorney, has served three terms in the Arkansas House of Representatives and as an adviser to emerging democracies. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Smith College with a concentration in economics and international relations.

In partnership with MacNeil/Lehrer Productions, AETN's production team began offering this foreign affairs programming as part of the initiative “By the People: America in the World,” which is designed to get citizens around the country talking about America's role in the world. The program seeks to educate and inform viewers on important events in international relations and to relate the impact of U.S. foreign policy on the daily lives of Americans and Arkansans.

Now celebrating 40 years of service to the state, the Arkansas Educational Television Network (www.aetn.org) provides lifelong learning opportunities, improves and enhances Arkansans’ lives and celebrates the unique culture of Arkansas through its programming. AETN’s five transmitters and numerous cable system connections give it statewide reach.
